Fletcher Mills will join the 12 finalists for The X Factor’s live shows, starting this Sunday.
The 17-year-old from Wellington convinced in his first audition when he sung an original composition, Ode to Bon Iver.
Since then the music student struggled at times and was sent home in Monday’s episode by judge Ruby Frost who told him “I don’t feel like you’re ready.”
The Wild Card Vote was announced as a “twist” in the final minutes of Monday night’s episode.
Mills beat out Grace Ikenasio, The Young Project and Aotea Beazley to claim a spot alongside the top 12 at The X Factor live shows.
