But if they paid that money in the hopes of witnessing a partisan, post-presidential throwdown, they would be sorely disappointed.

Slain woman’s family sues alleged killer

The mother and brother of a 31-year-old woman found strangled with her two young sons in the bedrooms of their home filed a wrongful death lawsuit Tuesday against the alleged killer — the husband and father of the victims. Christopher Coleman has pleaded not guilty in the triple homicide police say took place early in the morning on May 5 in the family home in the small southwestern Illinois city of Columbia.

Pakistan’s top court allows Nawaz Sharif to run for political office

Pakistan’s Supreme Court overturned its ban on opposition leader Nawaz Sharif and his brother, allowing both men to run for political office, a court representative told CNN Tuesday. British poet Ruth Padel resigned as the University of Oxford’s Professor of Poetry Monday, only days after being elected to the 300-year old title. But rival poet Derek Walcott, who won the Nobel prize for Literature in 1992, pulled out of the race earlier this month amid allegations about his private life.

No Gas Deal at the E.U.-Russia Summit

The location may have been the first hint. The 23rd European Union-Russia summit on Friday was held in the Russian Far East city of Khabarovsk, a former Tsarist army outpost just a few dozen miles from the Chinese border and 5,000 miles east of Western Europe. The location seemed more aimed at inducing jet lag and awe at Russia’s size than at forging agreement on energy, an issue that has consistently soured relations between the two powers over the past months — and which the summit failed to resolve
