Demi Moore responds to Twitter suicide threat

Actress Demi Moore’s frequent postings on Twitter put her in the middle of a life-and-death drama Friday when a woman sent her an online message threatening suicide. Moore, who was in southern France where her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher, is filming a movie, quickly replied to the threat saying, “Hope you are joking.” Twitter followers who saw the message tracked it to a San Jose, California, home, where police found a 48-year-old woman.

In an industry dominated by men, leave it to women to come up with the winning idea in a contest to create a concept for a video game about losing one’s virginity. On Wednesday, at the Game Developers Conference here, the two-woman team of Heather Kelley and Erin Robinson won the Game Design Challenge with just 36 hours of preparation, while their competitors had weeks to come up with concepts for a game about “your first time.” This was the sixth straight year of the design challenge, hosted annually by New York-based game developer Eric Zimmerman.

But it’s funny how many guys like to talk to me when I’m not working, when I’m pushing my sons in their double stroller or watching them at the playground. Neighbors know what I do, and it seems to draw the men to me — and they open up about certain things that the guys who actually come to see me with their wives just don’t.
