Sonos: My Favorite Music Solution

I’ve long been a fan of the Sonos music system, a collection of small, cigar-box-sized devices that attach to any stereo in my home and allow me to wirelessly stream digital music. I couple it with the music subscription service, Rhapsody, and get access to some 5 million songs — virtually anything I want to hear, whenever I want to hear it. As good as it is, Sonos got a little bit better today with the unveiling of a variety of upgrades and a new, free iPhone application

7 charged in alleged prostitution ring on Craigslist

New York authorities indicted seven people accused of running a prostitution ring on the Web site Craigslist, the state’s attorney general announced Wednesday. Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s office said the group ran a 24-hour prostitution ring called Room Service Entertainment from Craigslist’s erotic services section from June 2007 to December 2008. The 47-count indictment unsealed Wednesday named the company’s co-owners as Scott Rosenberg, 45, and Josef Davenport, 31

Obama says U.S. must get in front on green energy

President Obama said Wednesday the United States must take the lead on energy, citing the "enormous job creation potential that exists." Obama’s remarks came at the end of his first quarterly meeting with the Economic Recovery Advisory Board, which was created in February to provide the administration with independent, nonpartisan advice on how to promote economic growth and stability. The focus of Wednesday’s meeting, which was streamed live on the White House Web site, was job creation and green energy. Obama told the board members he’s seen “some return to normalcy” in parts of the financial markets.

U.S., Russian officials to discuss new nuclear treaty

Russian and U.S officials are meeting Wednesday and Thursday in Moscow to discuss a replacement pact for the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty I, which is expiring in December. “The key thing is that our two countries seem to have decided that we do want to pursue very intensive negotiations between now and December 2009 to try to achieve a new treaty to replace START when it goes out of force December 5,” said Rose Gottemoeller, the U.S. assistant secretary of state

Top Republicans want apology or proof from Pelosi

Top Republicans are demanding an apology from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi or proof to back her claim that the CIA misled Congress about the use of harsh interrogation tactics. Pelosi last week said that she was briefed by the CIA on such techniques only once — in September 2002 — and that she was told at the time that techniques like waterboarding were not being used. Pelosi, D-California, said she learned from an aide that waterboarding had been used after other lawmakers were briefed in 2003.
