Bushnell bites back in Carrie dispute

The author Candace Bushnell has sprung to the defence of The Carrie Diaries following Sarah Jessica Parker’s comment that she finds the new TV show odd. Based on Bushnell’s novels, the show stars young actor AnnaSophia Robb as a teenaged Carrie Bradshaw who is just starting to develop her passion for fashion and publishing while coming to terms with her mother’s death

The GC returns for second season

Everyone’s favourite “mozzies” look set to return to New Zealand’s television screens, with Mediaworks announcing The GC has been given the go ahead for a second season. Funded by Te Mangai Paho, the second season will follow many of the same tanned and trendy Maori whose contribution to society included a new meaning for the word “aunty”.

Is this the weirdest Eurovision entry?

The Eurovision song contest has always been a breeding ground for some very strange performances. The Ukraine in 2007 sent drag queen comedian Verka Serduchka with Dancing Lasha Tumbai, last year Russia’s oldest girl-group warmed the cockles of our hearts, and there’s also Germany’s Guildo Hat Euch lieb.
