Report: Iran accuses U.S. in researcher’s disappearance

The United States is involved in the disappearance of an Iranian researcher, Iran’s state-funded media reported. Shahram Amiri, a researcher at Tehran’s Malek Ashtar University, disappeared after going to Saudi Arabia for a pilgrimage on June 4, Iran’s state-funded Press TV reported Wednesday

Ten-man Germany claim thrilling late victory

Ten-man Germany scored the winning goal in the second minute of injury time to defeat Nigeria 3-2 and secure a quarterfinal showdown with Brazil at the under-20 World Cup in Egypt — the official FIFA Web site has reported. Nigeria took the lead in the 51st minute in Suez when Lewis Holtby misplaced pass fell straight to King Osanga, who crossed for Danny Uchechi to head home.

With all of the recent deadly storms in the news, it may seem as though this year as been more active than a normal year. Since September 1 we have seen eight tropical cyclones, five of which became typhoons and two of those reached Super Typhoon status, the strongest classification of tropical cyclones in the Western Pacific.
