Ukraine beat 10-man England to boost 2010 hopes
Ukraine claimed a 1-0 victory over 10-man England which boosted their hopes of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa via the playoffs. The victory on Saturday saw Ukraine move a point ahead of Croatia into second place in Group Six, and a win in their final game against Andorra will put them into the playoffs.

Arsenal forward Robin van Persie has accused former teammate Emmanuel Adebayor of deliberately trying to injure him with a stamp during their English Premier League defeat to Manchester City. Adebayor, who left Arsenal for City in July for a fee in the region of $40 million, seemed to lunge at the Dutch international who sustained a cut on the side of his head which required treatment
UEFA charge Chelsea, Drogba and Boswinga
UEFA have charged Chelsea, along with players Dider Drogba and Jose Boswinga, after the controversial scenes which followed their Champions League semifinal exit to Barcelona. Drogba faces a misconduct charge for confronting referee Tom Henning Ovrebo after the final whistle, while Boswinga gave a controversial interview in which he criticized the referee in strong terms. Chelsea have also been charged with failing to control their players and fans, who threw objects on to the pitch at Stamford Bridge.

A stunning last-gasp strike from Andres Iniesta put 10-man Barcelona in the Champions League final on the away goals rule, giving the Catalan giants a 1-1 draw at Chelsea on a night of high drama at Stamford Bridge. With the clock showing two minutes gone out of an extra four minutes at the end of the game, Spanish international Iniesta fired in a sublime shot from the edge of the area to break Chelsea’s hearts and take Pep Guardiola’s side through to a dream final against holders Manchester United in Rome on May 27. Following last week’s cagey goalless draw at the Nou Camp, all the talk before the match was whether Barca’s stunning attacking prowess could pierce Chelsea’s solid defense.
