Button claims Malaysian pole for Brawn GP

Britain’s Jenson Button backed up his season-opening victory in Melbourne by claiming pole for the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang on Saturday. Button, who gave the newly-formed Brawn GP team a fairytale win in Australia, recorded the fastest time of one minute 35.181 seconds. Toyota’s Jarno Trulli, reinstated to third place last week after the disqualification of world champion Lewis Hamilton, will join Button on the front row of the grid.

Bolt aims to speed up United ace Ronaldo

Fanatical Manchester United fan Usain Bolt is planning to pass on his tips for speedy sprinting to their world footballer of the year Cristiano Ronaldo. The Jamaican broke the 100 and 200 meters world records on the way to three golds in the Beijing Olympics and is coming to Manchester for a one-off sprint road race on May 17. He will be at Old Trafford for United’s penultimate Premier League match against Arsenal but before that he aims to attend a training session to link up with Portuguese flyer Ronaldo.

Report: 2 taken from scene of deadly Binghamton shootings

A lone gunman began shooting Friday in an immigration services building in Binghamton, New York, killing at least four people, a law enforcement source close to the situation said. The source said more than a dozen were wounded. Police on the scene told CNN affiliate WBNG-TV that up to 12 people were killed in the shooting.

‘I’m no liar’ says contrite Hamilton

An apologetic Lewis Hamilton said he had made a "huge mistake" for misleading race stewards at the Australian Grand Prix but said he had been told to lie by McLaren sporting director Dave Ryan. Hamilton, who was stripped of third place in the season-opener, broke his media silence after Ryan was suspended by McLaren and sent home from the Malaysia where the second round of the championship takes place this weekend.
