The man jailed for trying to kill British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in a hotel bombing in 1984 appeared in Parliament Tuesday with the daughter of one of his victims. Indian army holds soldiers to account over deaths
The Indian army has found an officer and two troopers accountable for "lapses" in the killing of two youths in Indian administered Kashmir. “The high level army inquiry headed by a brigadier has been completed. Killing sparks protests in Kashmir
Protesters — angry about the killing of a carpenter, allegedly by Indian paramilitary forces — on Thursday stormed the streets of a village near Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir. The 35-year-old carpenter was killed in front of family members when a patrol unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) entered his house in the southern village of Kashmir Kheegam for a search, locals said. The carpenter, the father of four young children, died on the spot.
Bus plunges into Indian river, killing 20
A bus rolled into the fast-flowing Chenab River in northern India, killing at least 20 people, officials said. Authorities were unclear what prompted the gunbattle, but an information ministry spokesman told CNN that several members of the Bangladesh Rifles force apparently staged a rebellion against the head of the force.
