China celebrates 60 years of PRC’s founding

Beijing prepared for massive celebrations on Thursday for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The capital was to witness a grand National Day military and mass parade as well as evening gala, according to state-run Xinhua news agency.

Iran to give IAEA inspection timetable

Iran will soon tell the International Atomic Energy Agency when it can inspect the Islamic republic’s recently revealed nuclear facility, the country’s state-run Press TV reported. The head of Iran’s nuclear program made the announcement in an interview with Press TV on Monday, but he did not give a timetable for the potential inspection.

Suu Kyi changes stance on Myanmar sanctions

Myanmar’s imprisoned pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi is prepared to work with the nation’s military leaders in order to get economic sanctions against the country lifted, a spokesman for her political party said Friday. Previously, Suu Kyi has staunchly opposed lifting any sanctions against the current regime in Myanmar.
