IMDb founder Col Needham said the massively popular movie database has set as its major goal for the future to add one-button streaming for all of the 1.3 million titles it indexes. Obviously, the vision is a long-term one, Needham acknowledged, and it faces hurdles from the slew of content owners who control the vast library of titles the Internet Movie Database provides information about, but as a leading movie-oriented site, it’s a very important goal to articulate in public. Needham was speaking Monday afternoon at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival here.

Indeed, the 33 year-old’s career could be seen as a template for what women can achieve in the industry. As an actress, Theron is famous for roles in films as diverse as serial killer biopic “Monster” and Will Smith superhero movie “Hancock,” switching with apparent ease between small independent movies and big-budget blockbusters.
Sometimes, when you need just the right thing to say, it’s good to let the movies do the talking. Whether it’s daring someone to “Show me the money!” before sealing a deal, proclaiming “Houston, we have a problem” when something goes wrong or shouting “I’m the king of the world” on a particularly good day, there’s a simple pleasure in using those instantly recognizable nuggets of dialogue.
After all the anticipation and hubbub, the weekend is coming to an end and the box office results are here: "Watchmen" (No. 1) grossed $55.7 million during its first frame, according to early estimates from Media by Numbers. That’s a solid sum, to be sure, although it’s certainly on the low end of most projections.
The book is always better. Seeing a movie made from a favorite novel, or even an ordinary one, the reader-viewer invariably finds something missing, lacking, overstressed or just plain wrong, because it was changed. When we read the book, we make the movie: we cast it, visualize it, control its pacing.
