Body found in hunt for prof suspected in killings

Authorities discovered a body Saturday during a search for a University of Georgia professor accused of killing three people, Athens-Clarke County police said. Cadaver dogs searching for George Zinkhan discovered a body about 65 miles northeast of Atlanta, police said. High court denies deportation stay for accused Nazi guard

The Supreme Court on Thursday denied a stay of deportation for alleged Nazi death camp guard John Demjanjuk, who faces a war crimes prosecution in Germany. Justice John Paul Stevens without comment refused to intervene in the planned transfer from the United States.

Wesleyan shooting suspect threatened Jewish students

A man suspected of killing a Wesleyan University junior may be targeting the university and its Jewish population, Middletown, Connecticut, police said Thursday. Police have launched a nationwide search for Stephen Morgan, 29, who is suspected of killing Johanna Justin-Jinich. The young woman was shot and killed Wednesday at a bookstore in Middletown near the Wesleyan campus, police said.

Texas police will return cash in case that prompted lawsuit

Authorities who seized $8,500 and assorted jewelry from a Tennessee man after a traffic stop in east Texas have agreed to return the property after his case drew attention from CNN. Roderick Daniels said police in Tenaha, Texas, took the money in October 2007 after they stopped him for doing 37 mph in a 35-mph zone. He said police threatened him with money-laundering charges and promised not to prosecute if he signed over the cash, which Daniels said was to buy a new car
