Surveillance footage may show Mumbai attackers
A brief surveillance video appears to show gunmen in a Mumbai, India, hotel during coordinated attacks on several locations in November that killed more than 160 people, including many foreigners. CNN has been unable to authenticate the video, which lasts for less than 20 seconds, but CNN’s sister network CNN-IBN said it received the video from police. Nigeria militants ‘repel attack, kill troops’
Militants in Nigeria’s oil-rich southern delta region said they killed six government soldiers after the military attacked one of its camps on Thursday. The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, in an e-mail, said three military gunboats attacked one of its camps around the Ke River in the country’s Rivers state. The group said the gunboats were repelled, with six soldiers dying and three militant fighters wounded in the skirmish
Bangladesh says rebellion by mutinous troops ends
The rebellion by paramilitary Bangladesh Rifles troops apparently ended Thursday after they handed over their weapons inside their headquarters in the capital city’s Pilkhana district, the national press agency quoted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as saying in a nationwide televised address. Earlier Thursday, the country’s home minister, Sahara Khatun, said mutinous paramilitary troops were close to laying down their arms and many had returned to their barracks. “They have raised white flags and the situation is in its last stages,” added a government official who did not want to be identified because he is not authorized to speak to the media

‘Colonel’ from Pakistan wanted in Mumbai case
A Pakistani man using "colonel" as a title is one of about three dozen people wanted over November’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai, but his connections with the Pakistani army have not been established, Indian prosecutors say. “This is all a matter of investigation,” special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told CNN Thursday when asked if India thought he had links to the Pakistani army. After promising the American people his team has already found $2 trillion in budget savings by scouring the federal budget, President Obama is planning to lay out some of the potential spending cuts in great detail when he unveils his first blueprint on Thursday, according to senior administration officials familiar with the budget plans. “My administration has also begun to go line by line through the federal budget in order to eliminate wasteful and ineffective programs,” Obama said Tuesday in a speech to a joint session of Congress.
