Sampras: Federer is the ‘best ever’

Former world number one, Pete Sampras, has described recently crowned French Open champion Roger Federer as the best player in history. The 37-year-old American, nicknamed ‘Pistol Pete’ for his bullet-like serves, won a record 14 grand slam men’s singles titles over a 15-year career, though never captured the trophy at Roland Garros.

David Carradine’s manager suspects foul play in actor’s death

David Carradine’s wife and his manager disputed suggestions that the actor’s death was a suicide, while a source in Bangkok, Thailand, said the actor’s neck and genitals were found bound with rope. Carradine, 72, became famous in the 1970s, when he portrayed the traveling Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine in the television series “Kung Fu.” Bangkok police said Carradine was found hanging by a nylon rope in a Bangkok hotel room closet Thursday morning. A member of the emergency crew who was called to the hotel after a maid found Carradine told CNN that a yellow nylon rope was tied around the actor’s neck and a black rope was around his genitals

Ochoa inspired by Tiger Woods meeting

The world’s best female golfer, Lorena Ochoa of Mexico, has exclusively revealed to CNN that a meeting with Tiger Woods in her youth inspired her to become the player she is today. The pair first met at Tory Pines when both competing in the Junior World Championships, an event that Woods won a record six times and Ochoa has won five. The two then met again 15 years later at the Golf Writer’s Association of America Awards where both were named players of the year
