Winehouse doco in works

A documentary is in the works about the late British soul singer Amy Winehouse and it features previously unseen material, the film’s distributor said. The film, which will include archival footage never seen by the public, will be directed by Briton Asif Kapadia, whose 2010 film “Senna,” about Brazilian auto racer Ayrton Senna, won a BAFTA for best documentary

Museum cans heavy metal gig

London’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) has cancelled an experimental concert by extreme metal band Napalm Death, fearing the noise level could damage the 104-year-old building. Ceramic artist Keith Harrison from the V&A, the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design, collaborated with Napalm Death on a set to be played through a sculptural sound system which would disintegrate under decibel stress.

Pair planned to decapitate singer, court hears

The soul singer Joss Stone says she was at home the day two men were arrested nearby and then charged with plotting to rob and decapitate her. The suspects, Junior Bradshaw and Kevin Liverpool, were arrested in June 2011, close to the singer’s house after suspicious neighbours reported them to police.
