More associates link Jackson to prescription drugs

Michael Jackson’s dermatologist said Wednesday that he was not surprised to learn that investigators found numerous bottles of prescription drugs in the singer’s home — adding that he had warned Jackson about their danger repeatedly. “I’m very shocked by it, but I have to tell you it’s not something that would be unheard of,” Dr. Arnold Klein said in an appearance on CNN’s “Larry King Live.” Klein is the latest in a growing series of Jackson associates who have tied the singer to drugs in recent days

Mayor’s office: Michael Jackson memorial cost L.A. $1.4 million

The memorial service for singer Michael Jackson cost the city of Los Angeles $1.4 million, the mayor’s office said Wednesday. Costs included putting extra police on the streets, trash pickup, sanitation, traffic control and more for the Tuesday event, spokeswoman Sarah Hamilton said

Hiddink takes charge at Chelsea

English Premier League side Chelsea confirmed Thursday that Guus Hiddink will take charge until the end of the season following the dismissal of Luis Felipe Scolari. The veteran Dutchman currently coaches the Russian national team, which he led to the semifinals of last year’s European Championship. Chelsea said it thanked the Russian Football Union for its “understanding and cooperation.” It was unclear whether Hiddink would continue as Russian coach.
