Stuff music blogger Simon Sweetman will soon find out if he really is the man.
The ruthless critic who has given out more hits than Savage, will take centre stage when he interviews Leonard Cohen’s biographer Sylvie Simmons live on stage at the Carterton Events Centre on May 21.
The concept behind I’m Your Man, which is being organised by Masterton based entrepreneur Mark Rogers, is a tribute to the life and times of the Zen Buddhist monk.
“I just have to be able to talk (which I can do) and keep a conversation moving (which I can hopefully do but I know she is brilliant at it),” says Sweetman, who has spoken on panels and interviewed a couple of musicians for live audiences.
“I think I’ll be in good hands. Last year I interviewed one of the members of Tinariwen at a forum for the Wellington Arts Festival and that had to be done through a translator who I met five minutes before the 45 minute chat,
