Rihanna has confirmed she and Shakira will duet on new single Can’t Remember to Forget You.
The singer posted a photo on Instagram showing the name of the song over two chairs, with “Shakira” on one and “featuring Rihanna” on the other. The date on the picture is “01.13.14”.
“One. Week. Countdown,” Rihanna tweeted as she linked to the picture.
Rapper Pitbull first hinted at a collaboration between the Barbadian singer and Shakira last month when he explained Rihanna was too busy to work with him. According to Pitbull, he wanted Rihanna to sing the hook on his song Timber, featuring Ke$ha.
“That is an ironic situation there. The person we were looking at first to work on that record was actually Rihanna, and Rihanna had something she had to do with Shakira, so she wasn’t able to work on our record,” he said.
