Michigan House Republicans prohibited state Rep. Lisa Brown (D) for, during a speech regarding healthcare and abortion using what they considered to be offensive language.
What Brown actually said was “Finally, Mr. Speaker, I’m flattered that you’re all so interested in my vagina, but ‘no’ means ‘no’.” Regarding abortion laws.
Republicans deemed the use f the word to be offensive and restricted her rights to speak on the floor. Brown then asked them “If I can’t say the word vagina, why are we legislating vaginas?”
