A potential superstar of Thursday’s 2013 Pacific Music Awards is in a race against time to get back to New Zealand for the ceremony.
Aaradhna, who has received a record five nominations, is in the US doing press and publicity to coincide with the release of her single Wake Up, on Republic Records.
“Hopefully I will make it back in time. It’s just that I am tied up with other commitments over here,” Aardhana says. “But I will do my best to try to make it back by then.”
Wellington diva Iva Lamkum is in the running for four awards on the back of her debut album Black Eagle.
Lamkum, whose last New Zealand show for a while will be at the Wellington Jazz Festival on June 6-8, heads offshore for a European tour – Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and UK – highlighted by another set at the iconic Glastonbury Festival. She’s also due for some time out on the Greek island of Santorini.
The Pacific Music Awards are at the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau, Auckland.
