Shia LaBeouf was reportedly arrested for disorderly conduct for his behaviour at Broadway musical Cabaret.
According to Variety, fans and cast members in attendance at the evening show saw Shia being disruptive during the first act of the play, starring Alan Cumming and Michelle Williams.
Sources told the outlet he was escorted out by police during intermission.
The New York Post subsequently reported LaBeouf had been taken into custody at approximately 9:30 pm. local time.
Cast member Danny Burstein was among those who took to social media to share what occurred during the programme.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is your places call for Act II. Also, to let you know, Shia LaBeouf has just been escorted from the building in handcuffs,” he wrote on Facebook, according to the outlet.
Tony Award-nominee Benj Pasek also took to Twitter, musing about the alleged incident: “Just saw Shia LaBeouf in handcuffs in tears surrounded by 6 police officers outside of CABARET the musical. Oh New York, u is a crazy b***h.”

Sources told Broadway.com LaBeouf was in tears as he was being escorted out of Studio 54, where the production recently opened.
According to ABC News, the 28-year-old had been seen smoking inside the theatre and was “engaging in other disruptive behaviour”.
The former Transformers star has dominated headlines in recent months for his self-proclaimed performance art, including an incident in Berlin when he appeared on a red carpet with a brown paper bag on his head reading: I’m Not Famous Anymore.
