Sharon Osbourne is “devastated” about husband Ozzy Osbourne’s addiction relapse.
The rocker’s wife discussed his issues for the first time since she was revealed to be living a separate life from him.
She confessed she was aware he had been drinking but didn’t know of his prescription pill abuse.
“He’s been using alcohol and prescription drugs for the past year and a half. That’s true. That’s very true,” she admitted on American daytime TV show The Talk.
“Everybody knows he’s been struggling with this his entire life. I never knew he was using prescription drugs. I knew he was drinking occasionally.”
Osbourne is a regular on the programme’s panel and told the audience they were definitely not breaking up for good.
She encouraged fans to only regard what her family was saying as the truth.
“Everything that was printed … has been distorted. The only thing that was true was the Facebook posting that my husband did,” she explained. “We’re not getting divorced.”
Her husband posted on the social networking website that he was indeed battling addiction again. He also reassured readers that he and his wife of 31 years were not parting ways.
It came after moving vans were spotted outside their home and Sharon Osbourne was reported to be living in a hotel.
“Am I happy No. Am I upset Yes, I am. I’m devastated. It’s a disease that not only hurts the person who has the disease but it hurts the family,” Osbourne said about the situation they kept concealed for 18 months.
“We’re dealing with it. We’ve dealt with worse … This, too, shall pass. Otherwise, my husband will be taken to hospital to get my foot removed from his [rear].”
