Sean Bean has “died a lot of different deaths” on camera.
While being killed is not the desired fate for any character, Bean is not really bothered by it.
In the lead up to the premiere of his new drama, Legends, the actor reflected on the darkest periods in his performances.
“I’ve died quite a few times, actually and I’ve died a lot of different deaths. Maybe it’s the quality of my death,” the Game of Thrones star told reporters at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour in Beverly Hills. “I’m still here, anyway.”
The 55-year-old has played many roles both on television and in film across his career which spans more than 30 years.
While most of the time he has lived to tell the tale, Bean confesses that he is proud of one death in particular.
“I liked Lord of the Rings,” the star, who played Boromir in the franchise, said. “That was a quite epic death.”
While the initial screening of Sean’s new crime series is impending, bosses at the TNT network proposed the hashtag #DontKillSeanBean to test the waters with his fans.
What’s more, when Sean was asked if he knew how his fans felt about his frequent deaths, he joked that it must just be the nature in which his characters pass away.
Luckily, for the time being his die-hard fans have nothing to worry about.
“I’m going to be in it for a while,” he explained.
The new drama is focuses on secret FBI agent Martin Odum, played by Bean, who transforms into a different person each time he is appointed a new case. A stranger later appears causing him to question his sanity.
