Rolling Stones set to rock NZ

You can’t always get what you want – but Kiwi Rolling Stones fans are about to, with details of a New Zealand concert to be announced soon.

The aging British rockers have just announced an Australian concert in March next year.

Promoters Frontier Touring and AEG Live said in a statement they are set to announce a New Zealand concert, and more Australian dates, in the next few weeks.

The Rolling Stones last performed in New Zealand in 2006 on their “A Bigger Bang” world tour.

It was during this tour that guitarist Keith Richards infamously fell out of a coconut tree in Fiji, and was airlifted to Mercy Ascot hospital in Auckland to undergo brain surgery.

The Stones are not expected to tour the world again after 2014, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. The band members are all in their late 60s and early 70s.
