Rihanna has joined the debate on the deadly Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but only for a mere eight minutes.
The pop artist tweeted the hashtag #FreePalestine, but within eight minutes the tweet had been deleted from her Twitter feed.

Though not before the tweet had been retweeted almost 7000 times.
Since deleting the initial tweet, Rihanna has shared a less-polarizing perspective.

Rihanna is not the only celebrity to have been caught tweeting and deleting a #FreePalestine tweet.
American NBA star, Dwight Howard posted the same tweet in response to a fan who shared pictures of Gaza with him.
His tweet was deleted shortly after it was posted and it was followed up with a series of tweets, withdrawing him from the debate.

Amare Stoudemire of the New York Knicks also found himself retracting a post on Instagram, which read “pray for Palestine.”
