Vivian Lee, NY1 Reporter was reporting on the death of Richard Schwartz 61, who was killed after lightning struck a church steeple and sent debris tumbling to the street Thursday night, in Cobble Hill Friday morning when the incident happened.
Reports say Lee outside Schwartz’s home in Cobble Hill when she spotted 24-year-old Casivant inside the news van.
A woman dressed in sweat pants a t-shirt and a white sheet draped over her t-shirt got into the NY1 van and began using Lee’s makeup and snacking on food, Lee and a witness said.
When Vivian Lee asked the woman to leave she resisted and punched the reporter in the neck. The driver had to grab the woman and drag her out of the van, he also held her down till the cops arrived and took her away.
“I’m okay,” said Lee after the incident.
“It could’ve been worse. This does happen a lot to media people. I’m happy I’m standing to be able to tell you.”
An ambulance was not called.
