Rebel Wilson wonders why “hot” people don’t lie about being “two-toothed” online.
The Australian actress is known for her wicked sense of humour and has appeared in comedies such as Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect.
In 2010, documentary Catfish made waves, telling the true story of Yaniv ‘Nev’ Schulman, who fell in love via Facebook but later found out the person wasn’t who he thought she was.
Since then, a spin-off TV series about similar experiences has been developed and Wilson is keen for a surprise twist in one of the episodes.
“Why don’t really hot people catfish others and pretend to be two-toothed emotionally disabled people online (sic)” she mused on Twitter.
The Teen Choice Awards are coming up next month and Pitch Perfect has received plenty of nominations for the coveted surfboard-shaped prizes.
Wilson is keen for the film to triumph, even if the awards bring back some unwelcome memories.
“Thanks for all the fans voting for Pitch Perfect and castmates for Teen Choice Awards! I want one of those surfboards..although last time I… went surfing, I was 13 with braces, I wasn’t looking when a wave came and the board smashed into my face and my lips meshed into the braces!” she shared online.
“Blood poured from my face as I ran out of the water! (sic)”
Wilson’s latest projects include crime thriller Pain & Gain and TV series Super Fun Night.
The star has come a long way, which was proven when she picked up the best film actress prize at the Glamour magazine awards earlier this year.
However, she can still remember what it was like being relatively unknown.
“So Joan Collins was up on the [Glamour] stage. Before I became Film Actress Of The Year, I did a television episode with her. She thought I was one of the caterers, she didn’t know I was an actress! She asked me, ‘When’s lunch'” she laughed to the magazine
