Met Neville Bardos, he’s a 12-year-old Racehorse that was headed for the glue factory after a failed racing career; that is until he was noticed by now owner, Boyd Martin. Fast Forward 9 years to when Neville was badly injured in a horrific barn fire and you might start to say this horse leads a charmed life.
But this isn’t just the tale of a lucky horse, but of a champion beating all odds and heading. Former Olympic equestrian Heath Ryan told ABC News that he was with Martin when he purchased Neville and at the time he didn’t have high hopes for the failed racehorse. He was happy to add that Neville proved him wrong.
It could be said that Neville is an inspiration for equine and human kind alike “It’s never too late to try something new.” Neville (with the guidance of his owner Boyd Martin) has now sold the movie right to his story, where he is expecting an Oscar or two add to his trophy wall.
