New York Native Ronald Poppo is alert. His doctors say he is doing better and able to walk and eat. The damage to his face was extensive and the road to recovery will be long.
Tuesday afternoon Jackson memorial hospital released two pictures of Ronald Poppo, after receiving his consent. Hospital staff has him up ambulating in the hallways.
In a press release, his physicians announced that when he came in, his face was unrecognizable and they did surgery to close his wounds and prevent further trauma. They say he will still have to endure several reconstructive operations before they are finished and that the final outcome of these surgeries is still unknown.
Doctors say Poppo was in good spirits and even mentioned he was a Miami Heat fan to one of his physicians.
