Mother cat stays guards her kittens from BB pellets, using herself as a shield to protect her small kittens.
Mother cat, Cindy, was clinging to life as a veterinarian removed a BB gun pellet from her head. As she and her small family were being fired upon by the owners of the gun, she did not flee to safety but instaed hovered over her kittens, sacrificing herself to protect them.
Thanks to the efforts of a genius veterinarian and the Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego, Cindy and her kittens are doing well and will be up for adoption shortly. We are all hoping someone will be able to adopt Cindy and her kittens so they can remain together.
