Miley Cyrus and family are launching a reality show on YouTube. The show, called Seriously Cyrus, will feature Miley’s parents Billy Ray and Leticia, little sister Noah, heavily tattooed brother Trace and step-sister Brandi.
The first episode will air on December 23, with a new show uploaded each week. As yet, there has been no indication about how often Miley herself will feature.
“As you know, my family has a lot going on, so that’s why we decided to come together and do something special,” said Brandi in the introductory video, before explaining what viewers can expect.
The episodes will feature segments such as Leticia’s “Truly Tish,” and “Sunday Sessions” from a guitar-weilding Billy Ray. “Take Two” will feature Noah and friends remaking classic movie scenes. Brandi will be presenting “Seriously Social”, a weekly rundown of Cyrus family news on Twitter and Instagram, as well as her own fashion and style show.
Although there was no mention of a regular segment starring the Wrecking Ball singer, her image and Twitter page were featured. Given that the 21-year-old has consistently made headlines in 2013 for her controversial behaviour, she is clearly the biggest attraction and the main reason that viewers will tune in.
There are more than 15,000 subscribers to the Seriously Cyrus YouTube channel, and momentum is picking up on official Facebook and Twitter pages.
It is unsure how many episodes will air, or how successful it will be in comparison to other family-based reality shows, such as Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Kim Kardashian is worth an estimated $40 million, and was the highest earning reality star in 2010 – earning $6 million.
Cyrus is already worth an estimated $150 million, and could well become one of the highest earners in reality TV for 2014, should she feature regularly on the online show.
