Melissa McCarthy reportedly fired an extra on the set of her new movie.
The Bridesmaids actress is currently recording a comedy titled Tammy in Wilmington, North Carolina.
On her first directing project with husband Ben Falcone, the star decided to get rid of an actress who allegedly mistreated her own child, according to TMZ.
The female in her 20s allegedly brought along her offspring, believed to be about four or five years old, while she was working by a lake for a $58 payment per day.
The website reports that the family was constantly disrupting the production of the movie as the parent shouted at the misbehaving youngster.
At one point in front of around 200 extras and crew, the unnamed mother is said to have abruptly lifted the child into the air by the wrist.
McCarthy was apparently unhappy with the harsh discipline and ordered the worker off her set immediately.
Apparently McCarthy’s personal assistants removed the person from her job on the motion picture.
Her movie starring Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates is due out in American cinemas on July 2 2014.
Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing the flick about a woman who has been cheated on and laid off from her job before embarking on a road trip with her grandmother.
The 42-year-old actress is making a name for herself in comedy movies at the moment and has been open about how keen she is for more women to follow in her footsteps.
“The crazy thing a couple of years ago was that people thought women weren’t funny. I thought, ‘What cave do you live in’ But I’m so busy brushing my hair I don’t know what people think…” she recently said.
