A man has rushed onto the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival and crawled beneath actress America Ferrera’s dress in a bizarre incident.
Security officials quickly pulled him away as the man tried to hide under Ferrera’s voluminous dress before the premiere of How to Train Your Dragon 2.
It was a surprising development on a red carpet renowned for its strict decorum.
Festival organisers didn’t immediately return messages about the incident but the Daily Mail has since reported the man was “serial red carpet pest Vitalii Sediuk”.
The newspaper said the Ukranian journalist has previously been slapped by Will Smith for trying to kiss him on a red carpet, crotch-hugged Bradley Cooper at a premiere and stormed the Grammys stage during Adele’s acceptance speech.
The former Ugly Betty star was on her way into the Palais des Festivals for the world premiere of the DreamWorks animated sequel.
