It was the girls who ruled world at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards last night with Lorde and Aaradhna cleaning up, taking out seven Tuis betweent hen.
Lorde started the show, held at Auckland’s Vector Arena, with a powerful rendition of her smash hit single Royals and ended with a haul of awards for single of the year for Royals, breakthrough artist of the year, international achievement award and the people’s choice award.
In her first acceptance speech for the international achievement award she thanked her family for keeping her sane in “a world for me that is always changing” and each speech thereafter she kept the crowd enthralled with her witticisms.
