Lindsay Lohan must adhere to a strict rehab programme during her stay at the Betty Ford Center, new documents reveal.
The 26-year-old actress has started court-ordered treatment at the facility in Rancho Mirage, California to fulfill the terms of her plea deal in connection to a 2012 car crash in which she was charged with reckless driving and lying to police.
Legal documents obtained by Radar Online reveal the Mean Girls star will be on lockdown during her 90-day stay.
“It is understood by the Betty Ford Center that your client is to remain on premises for the duration of her 90-day stay in treatment,” Betty Ford Center Case Manager Leslie Place writes in a letter to Lindsay’s lawyer filed in a Los Angeles court on Monday.
According to the document, the actress must stay in the hospital wing and will not be permitted to leave, even with a pass.
She will be assigned a treatment team, including a physician, nurse, primary, spiritual care and family counselors, a psychologist, and chemical dependency technician who will develop an individualised recovery plan for the actress.
“Each day consists of a full schedule of treatment activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, individual therapy, speciality groups, fitness, educational lectures and group therapy, which is the core of treatment at the Betty Ford Center,” according to the filing.
Judge James Dabney signed off on Lindsay receiving treatment at Betty Ford on Monday, four days after she checked in.
The actress initially scheduled treatment at Seafield Center in New York, but ditched those plans after reportedly realising she wouldn’t be allowed to smoke cigarettes. She then turned up to Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, California, but was there for just a few minutes before leaving apparently after being scared by photographers.
The move meant prosecutors were considering releasing a warrant for her arrest after she failed to check into a facility by May 2.
Lohan’s choice of centre has come as a surprise. In 2010 she was accused of fighting with a staff member while receiving treatment, resulting in civil lawsuits.
The actress has reportedly rehired her former lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley to help with the legal wrangling during her rehab stay.
