Former Neighbours’ actor Kym Valentine has settled her lawsuit against the producers of the long-running television soap.
It is not known if Valentine has been rehired for the role of Libby Kennedy, a part she played for 15 years, as part of the confidential settlement she has reached with FremantleMedia.
Valentine, who originally took sick leave in 2008 when she contracted pneumonia, has not appeared on the popular drama since taking sick leave two years ago.
Valentine launched her claim in July, alleging she was subject to sex and disability discrimination. She asserted FremantleMedia Australia had failed to provide a safe working environment and had been seeking compensation for “pain, hurt, suffering and humiliation” and lost wages, as well as her reinstatement to the Neighbours cast.
Fairfax Media contacted Valentine’s agent, Aran Michael Management, but was told she is no longer represented by the company. It is unclear if Valentine has found new management.
Recently, she completed her first TV job since leaving Neighbours in 2011. She has a minor role in the upcoming Channel Nine miniseries, Fat Tony and Co.
