Ke$ha, ever the poor music fan’s Lady Gaga, is under fire from America’s Parent Television Council after footage of her allegedly drinking her own urine was shown on TV.
In an episode of her reality TV seires, Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life, the singer said she would guzzle her own pee, after a friend suggested that she knew a woman who “drinks her own pee every day”.
The footage, which MTV aired on Tuesday in the US, doesn’t show the 26-year-old singer peeing; but what it does show is her drinking from a container of mostly clear-looking liquid after her friends plead with her not to do it.
The PTC has called the scene disgusting and vile and has demanded that cable TV providers give viewers control over the content which enters their homes.
PTC president Tim Winter said: “If given the opportunity, I can’t imagine that parents would want to pay for a cable network that airs an episode of a pop star drinking her own urine.”
