The accident happened on Monday night, while actress Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri were leaving Suri’s gymnastic class.
A garbage truck hit the car in which they were riding. Luckily their car was being driven by a chauffeur and they were unharmed.
Police arrived on the scene and noted the actress’ chauffeur-driven vehicle had sustained a large dent and several scratches to the rear driver side panel after the Volvo truck – from Classic Sanitation Recycling New York Corp – had apparently backed into the luxury vehicle.
“It was nothing major other than the fact that it was Katie Holmes,” a police source told the Daily News.
Tom Cruise made the trip to New York on an overnight flight to be sure that Suri was OK, the actor is reportedly spending Tuesday with his 6-year-old daughter.
