Kath & Kim co-creator and star Gina Riley is being treated for breast cancer and has urged women to get regular checks.
The actor and comedian was diagnosed before Christmas and has since had the cancer removed.
In a statement, Riley said the cancer was discovered during a yearly breast check.
“The cancer has been found early and is treatable and for that I feel lucky and grateful. I am being looked after by an amazing medical team.” the statement said.
News Limited publications are also reporting that she is preparing for additional treatment to guarantee a full recovery.
She also urged women to have regular breast checks so any cancers could be detected early.
“So ladies, get your breasts checked out. Preferably by a health professional,” the statement said.
