Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have apparently splashed close to $1 million on gold-plated toilets.
The stars are looking forward to moving into their new $13.5 million Bel Air mansion, which is currently undergoing extensive renovations.
Now the building work is almost done, the pair are turning their attentions to choosing lavish fixtures and fittings. Kim and Kanye paid a huge sum for four gold-plated toilets for their state-of-the-art bathrooms, reports British newspaper The Sun.
And it seems the spending doesn’t stop there.
To ensure the new parents and their guests get a good night’s sleep they have snapped up six special-edition beds costing a staggering $220,000. These were bought from the same company which supplies the exclusive London Savoy Hotel.
The couple has also spent close to $100,000 on Electrolux products for their kitchen and chosen a stunning Swarovski-encrusted fridge freezer.
Kardashian and West – who welcomed daughter North into the world last month – also want to make sure they are safe while at home and have spared no expense when it comes to security.
“They expect the interior to cost twice as much as the property,” a source told the publication. “They’re spending more than a million on a security system alone.”
Following the birth of North, the stars moved in with Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner. Now their dream house is nearing completion, they can’t wait to set up home as a family.
West is apparently taking his daughter’s safety very seriously.
It was recently reported he has hired a security team trained in “stalkers and death threats” to protect the newborn. The mansion is also located within an exclusive gated community with 24-hour armed guards patrolling the area.
Before they stayed at Jenner’s family home he apparently spent thousands on arranging for panic buttons and security cameras to be installed there.
