Selena Gomez’s family is reportedly “concerned” she’s reunited with Justin Bieber.
The pop stars were spotted having breakfast and shopping together in Texas this past week. Bieber also posted and deleted videos on Instagram of himself and Gomez dancing, and dedicated his surprise SXSW set to her Sunday night, fuelling rumours the pair have reconciled over a year after their split.
All of this is apparently worrying members of Selena’s family, who are not happy about the relationship being reignited.
“Selena has chosen Justin over her family in the past,” a source told People magazine. “They are disappointed about that. Her father has told her he doesn’t like her spending time with him.”
Although the couple split back in November 2012, they have been seen together on a frequent basis ever since. Gomez was spotted riding Segways with Bieber in his Los Angeles neighbourhood in January, and he later posted a picture of them together on Instagram with the caption “Love the way you look at me”.
Gomez is apparently determined to stick with the troubled pop star, despite her family’s concerns.
“There’s no talking to her,” a source told E! News. “She’s just going to do what she wants.”
Bieber stormed out of a deposition last week after he was questioned about Gomez.
Police released footage showing Bieber behaving in what’s been described as a rude and aggressive manner, which he defended on Twitter.
“Love how some people love to twist and justify the horrible action of others. We all have a right to defend ourselves and feel harassed,” he tweeted.
“They can’t break us. They can’t get us down. We are too strong. We love too much. #mybeliebers (sic).”
