Fall Out Boy to play Auckland show

American rockers Fall Out Boy are back from their hiatus and have just added a New Zealand date to their tour.

The multi-Grammy-nominated band, comprising Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley promise a performance that will be much more than just nostalgia.

The four-piece will rip through their multi-platinum selling hits as well as new tracks from their yet to be released fifth studio album Save Rock And Roll (Out 12 April through Universal).

“When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. It’s why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place,” the band says.

“This isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us. The future of Fall Out Boy starts now. Save Rock And Roll…”

Fall Out Boy have shot to fame with their 2005 sophomore album From Under the Cork Tree and announced after two more highly successful records to go on a hiatus in 2010. After rumours of their reunion had been swirling around for a while the band officially announced that they’re back in February with the single My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).

You’ll be ‘thankful for the memories’…
