If you can keep your eyes open you’re in for a spectacular view on the Cliffhanger Roller Coaster at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Colorado, USA.
The newest attraction at the Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado is a ride set on a base elevation of 7,000 feet, giving it the title of highest roller coaster in the world. It’s named ‘Cliffhanger’because it is literally perched atop an Iron Mountain cliff, overlooking the city to offer views of the spectacular scenery below.
Anyone who can keep their eyes open for more than a second is rewarded with a panoramic view up the Roaring Fork Valley and into the Glenwood Canyon, as their carts make their way around the tracks. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park’s Maintenance Manager, Kelly Bates said “We hope it’s going to be a game changer to our park. And not least because of how tricky it was to install. There was a lot of challenges.” She went on to explain some challenges the park faced before installing the mammoth coaster “Trucking was our biggest one because we have three miles of basically a single lane dirt road that gets to the top of this hill and it took thirteen semis to transport this ride from where it was at previously in Branson, Missouri.”
The park is hoping their initial 1 Million dollar investment will payoff in the long run.
