Organisers of Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park event are already looking ahead to the big 21st birthday event in 2014.
But they readily admit – this year’s extravaganza will be a hard act to follow.
An estimated crowd of up to 200,000 people braved scorching temperatures to enjoy what spokeswoman Deborah Delaney says was the greatest show yet.
The December 14 event included a line up of acts including Stan Walker, Sol3 Mio and X-Factor stars Jackie Thomas and Benny Tipene.
It was also the last for long-time supporter Frankie Stevesn who says he’s stepping aside after 18 years to let some of the country’s new talent take centrestage.
“All good things must end at some particular stage in life,” he says.”Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park has been one of the highlights of my career. I’ll miss it and I’ll miss the people more.”
