Chris Brown did not assault a woman at a California nightclub, according to the venue’s owner.
The 24-year-old singer is accused of intentionally pushing a woman to her knees after his performance at Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim on Saturday.
Deanna Gines, 24, told TMZ she was shoved by the star and will need reconstructive surgery after injuring her joint.
The lounge owner, whose name was not released, told the website he has reviewed reports from his security team and other witnesses to the alleged event.
He said Gines had repeatedly tried to jump on the stage during Brown’s performance and then attempted to ambush the star in a roped-off VIP section of the club.
“Based on the information which we have gathered from our security company, mall security, and other party goers which were at HEAT on Saturday night; It is apparent that the alleged incident regarding Chris Brown is false,” he said.
The owner said Gines was ejected due to her alleged attempts to come in contact with Brown.
He also said the woman took her stilettos off and threw them at security before she left.
Police were called to the scene but no arrests were made.
“Heat staff and security did what they had to do … [Chris] was a complete gentleman,” the owner said.
TMZ initially reported Gines’ claims she had suffered torn ligaments in her right knee.
Brown’s representative was baffled by the allegations when reached for comment.
“I’m unaware of the incident, as is Chris’ lawyer and his entire team,” Nicole Perna said. “He was in a great mood after Powerhouse. None of this makes sense.”
Brown pled guilty of felony assault in 2009 after battering his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
He was sentenced to five years probation and six months of court-ordered community service stemming from the incident.
