Charlie Sheen is so determined to visit his children he sees Denise Richards more now than when they were married.
The divorced couple have two children together, Sam, nine, and seven-year-old Lola. Although their split was fraught with difficulties the pair have since mended their relationship and now get along well.
Denise also cares for Charlie’s four-year-old twins Bob and Max, who he has with ex-wife Brooke Mueller. She was awarded temporary custody of them recently due to Brooke’s on-going drug problems.
Charlie is on the record saying Denise’s home is the best place for the boys to be and he is also a big part of their lives.
“He spends more time with Denise now than when they were married!” an insider told Us Weekly magazine.
Denise has cared for the twins on and off over the years, stepping in whenever Brooke needed help.
Sam and Lola are apparently thrilled to be seeing more of their half-brothers.
“[The boys] have lots of fun with Denise,” the source explained. “They’re shy, but once they get to know you, they’re a little wild!
“The girls are very protective of the twins. They’re all tight.”
Denise owns a $4 million estate in Hollywood, where she lives with Sam, Lola and her adopted daughter Eloise. The children spend time playing outside and riding horses, with Denise employing one nanny to help with their care.
“She’s always shuttling her kids from one thing to the next, like gymnastics, dance and soccer,” the source explained.
The 42-year-old has previously explained she sees Bob and Max as part of her family as they are her children’s siblings. She has vowed to be there to help them whenever it is needed.
Although Brooke has allowed Denise to look after her kids before, this time around she wants custody to be taken from the actress and handed to her brother instead.
