With Bindi Irwin about to turn 15 this week the Wildlife Warrior is keen to debate the serious issues of family planning and birth control to curb the overpopulation of the planet.
The teenaged daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, has told News Ltd that she’s been wanting to tackle bigger issues facing the world today.
She’s told The Sunday Mail that people tend to push aside the issues of wildlife consumption and human over-population.
In a video message, posted online earlier this year, the 14-year-old suggested family planning as one solution to the problem.
Surely, when these women are living on one dollar a day, it would be easier to feed five children than ten.
”I want our mother earth to have clear air, unpolluted drinking water and an abundance of wildlife forever.”
Irwin grew up on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, the home of her dad’s Australia Zoo wildlife park.
To celebrate her 15th birthday on July 26, the zoo is holding a special Nim’s Island Birthday Party, with free entry for all children.
Earlier this year, the teen starred in the film Return to Nim’s Island.
In the movie she plays a girl trying to save her eco-paradise home from being developed by largely unseen forces in Brisbane.
