Elusive actor Bill Murray has advised people to travel the world with their partner before getting married.
The 63-year-old actor is known for telling long, meandering, stories and didn’t disappoint when he crashed a bachelor party over the weekend.
Groom-to-be EJ Rumpke was celebrating his impending nuptials at a restaurant in Charleston, South Carolina, when members of his group realised Murray was there too.
They tried to send him some drinks but he refused them, following up with some words of advice for the man and his fiancee.
“You know how funerals are not for the dead, they’re for the living
“Bachelor parties are not for the groom, they’re for the uncommitted,” he said.
“If you have someone who you think is the one, don’t just sort of think in your ordinary mind, OK let’s make a date, let’s plan this and make a party and get married, take that person and travel with them around the world.”
The moment was caught on video, which was then sent to website Deadspin.
Murray explained exactly why he thought touring the globe with a prospective life partner is so important.
“Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world, and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of.
“And if when you come back to JFK (airport in New York), when you land in JFK and you still love that person, get married at the airport,” he added.
The comedian then lifted the groom on to his shoulders.
The video has also been posted on Facebook, where one of the party stated that hearing the speech had made his life complete.
Murray has been married twice, to Margaret Kelly and Jennifer Butler.
