Justin Bieber’s neighbour has accused the star of spitting in his face and threatening to kill him.
The 19-year-old singer is the subject of a police investigation after a fellow resident in his Los Angeles neighbourhood claimed he was assaulted when he visited Bieber to complain about his erratic driving on Tuesday morning.
Police were called to the scene of Bieber’s gated community in Calabasas.
TMZ reports the man told Sheriff’s deputies Justin’s Ferrari had just arrived on a flatbed truck and the singer decided to take it for a joyride.
It has been alleged he reached speeds of 160kmh, with multiple residents apparently concerned for the safety of their children and pets.
The neighbour, described as a 47-year-old successful businessman and father-of-three, claims the singer flew off the rails after he voiced his grievances.
He claims Bieber spit in his face and yelled, “Get the f**k out of here. I’m gonna f**king kill you,” before members of his security team escorted him off the singer’s property.
Other residents are said to have offered their support to the man’s claims, adding that a lot of children were playing outside at the time.
Los Angeles County Sheriff spokesperson Steve Whitmore revealed earlier this week a battery report has been filed and officials are actively investigating whether Bieber threatened the alleged victim.
Justin had just returned home from the European leg of his tour when he arrived home on Tuesday morning.
Reports have suggested the teenager was on edge after a long haul flight and weeks of travel.
Insiders in Justin’s camp have still dismissed the man’s claims. A source told TMZ there was “no physical contact” between the men.
In recent years, the Canadian singer has been constantly chased by paparazzi while publicly morphing from an almost angelic mop-topped teen to an adult battling a bad boy image.
Recently, Bieber lashed out at paparazzi and lunged at one photographer as members of the singer’s entourage held him back.
He collapsed backstage during a recent London concert and cancelled a performance in Portugal.
Prosecutors decided against filing charges after the pop star was accused of kicking and punching a photographer outside a Calabasas movie theatre in May 2012.
