Bieber plans visit to NZ, space

Justin Bieber will bring his show to New Zealand in November.

The teen star tweeted a link to his fan site today, revealing two Auckland shows on November 23 and 24.

The singer, whose weird antics have landed him in a bit of trouble recently, was last in New Zealand in July to promote his album Believe.

After travelling the world on his Believe tour, the 19-year-old plans to leave Earth.

While this announcement might be welcomed by his neighbours, the move to outta space will be only temporary.

Bieber and manager Scooter Braun have signed up for a Virgin Galactic suborbital flight, Virgin founder Richard Branson announced on Twitter.

“Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts,” Branson said. “Congrats, see you up there!”

“im going to space momma!!” Braun tweeted.

Astronaut No. 500 – more than 530 are signed up – is Ashton Kutcher, who also paid the US$250,000 fee to get on the list. Leonardo DiCaprio is on the list as well, having just picked up a travelling companion who at a recent auction in Cannes bid about US$1.5 million to take the trip with the actor.

Commercial flights aren’t up and running just yet, but the company has its eye on putting a test flight into space by the end of the year, according to its website.

At the altitude they’ll hit, on the edge of outer space, passengers will experience weightlessness and see the curvature of the Earth.

Maybe Bieber is just trying to put as much space as possible between himself and his hybrid-driving, former NFL-starring neighbour Keyshawn Johnson, who chased down the 19-year-old and his Ferrari late last month in a “confrontation” that ended with the Boyfriend singer reportedly locking himself in his house and refusing to come out.

Presumably, the Virgin Galactic spaceship will be able to outmanoeuvre Keyshawn and his Prius.
